Plight of Sikhs ? Who cares ? If it is so bad in Delhi, what do you think of the other parts of India. Where are our leaders ? We are more than pleased on spending huge sums on various samagams every month. Do we really care for the slumdog & down trodden sikhs. If you are really concerned, please add your comments.

There is no doubt that all over the world, Sikh community is known for its generosity.We are proud to be a member of a community where very rarely beggars can be seen!No doubt,our Management committee, spend crores without a blink ,on Sikh Samagams,on the constructions of new Gurdwaras,pay pathi's & Ragi's thousands rupees, more than required. This all being done ,with the excuse of spread(prachar) & safeguard of religion.At the same time,there is no doubt that free community Langar,various charitable programmes for the upliftment of downtrodden & slum dwellers, are also being run irrespective of their religion.So wherein the problem lies?Actually, inspite of good-will of the authority (Sikh Prabandhak Committee)& availability of abundant funding,there is lack somewhere in the system i.e. how to keep check on the implementation of all such welfare schemes;so that the benefit should reach directly to the concerned & aimed class of the society instead of middle men.In my opinion,for this, we need to laid down certain qualification criteria & guidlines for our leaders to make them accountable & answerable for such pitty conditions (well depicted in the Video entitled :Slumdog Sikhs)!
Being Sikh & cautious citizen of the society, I really feel ashamed & helpless after seeing the video.
I know it is impossible to bring about a change overnight,but atleast, on humanitarian grounds,we can put our first endeavour in this direction ,with our vision,unity & collective strength.So let's join hand together & be a proud Sikh!
