In the Holy City of Amritsar, where the Sikh Holiest Shrine Harmandar Sahib is housed a Sikh woman Manjit Kaur has been kidnapping and trafficking young women.

The alleged trafficking gang crime is lead by Manjit Kaur from the village of Kotwali.

It is believed that she was a regular visitor to Harmandar Sahib and participated in Sewa, it has now come to light that this was simply a pretext for her to identify her victims.

Kaur made friends with innocent venerable females, she offered them jobs and a lavish lifestyle to lured them form their homes.

Her cover was foiled when a Ludhaina based teenaged girl who was kidnapped by the alleged accused three years ago ,escaped and went to the police

This teenager has alleged that Kaur was part of a gang that exploited women, kidnapped then and sold them as prostitutes
Human trafficking in India and Asian is a flourishing crime.

Police have failed to make any arrests.

As the crime was instigated from the complex of Harmandar Sahib, SGPC (Shriomani Gurdwara Pharbandhak Committee) secretary Dalmegh Singh expressing shock over the incident said that a high level probe would be done by the SGPC and in future all necessary steps would also be taken to provide secured atmosphere.
